We're delighted to share that Wilshire Boulevard Temple's Audrey Irmas Pavilion has been named the 2022 Building Team of the Year by AIA Los Angeles, as part of the chapter's 2022 Presidential Honorees.
Spaceagency was proud to be part of the team behind the project. We designed the pavilion's wayfinding and signage, the Donor Wall, and the marketing collateral, drawing inspiration from the bold architectural language of OMA's design. Our aim was for every sign, surface and printed piece to feel like a natural extension of the building itself, guiding visitors and celebrating the community that made the project possible.
The award recognises teams whose work contributes to Los Angeles's evolving landscape and advances inclusivity, diversity and equity, both within the profession and in the built environment.
Designed by OMA and completed in collaboration with Gruen Associates, the Audrey Irmas Pavilion sits within the Temple's Glazer Family Campus in the heart of Koreatown, next to the beautifully restored historic sanctuary. It serves as a multi-purpose event space for the congregation and the wider city. The pavilion creates physical and visual connections with the sanctuary and the school, and offers a range of gathering spaces inside and out, including a fully occupiable landscaped roof with panoramic views across the LA basin.
