Committees plan our cities and architects shape our buildings, but who helps humans navigate their way through this manufactured environment? One could argue that successful architecture is self explanatory; so are public signage and design elements aimed directly at those using the space really that important? Joining the discussion are Sarah Manning of wayfinding studio Spaceagency, designer Morag Myerscough and Oliver Goodhall, co-founder of We Made That, who will be considering what makes great public design – clarity, simplicity, imagination or innovation?
We are excited to be part of this year's Clerkenwell Design week, the yearly design event in Clerkenwell. Spaceagency has been selected to re-imagine and design the graphic wayfinding and signage system that guides visitors between the different venues and local transport stops and to improve footfall to some of the venues.
Spaceagency is excited to join OMA as part of the design team for the new Audrey Irmas Pavilion, part of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple in Los Angeles. Spaceagency will be designing the Wayfinding and graphics for the pavilion.
The 55,000 sqf Pavilion will provide exhibition and event space for cultural and religious events to complement the existing building. Construction is expected to be completed on 2019.
