ACCOUNTS MANAGER
Spaceagency is a wayfinding, placemaking and experience design agency based in London and working with high profile international clients. Our practice connects expertise in urban design and architecture with the human focus of communication design and product design; enhancing how people experience and interact with spaces.
We are looking for a motivated Finance/Accounts Manager with the confidence and tenacity to contribute to this ambitious and growing company. You will work closely with senior management to provide day-to-day accounting support, client invoice processing and liaison and drive financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. You should be exceptionally well-organised and excellent at multi-tasking, to ensure the effective management of all hands-on aspects of financial operations:
You will be responsible for:
Processing and paying any outstanding invoices, through Xero
Accounting and paying expenses submitted by team members
Updating project finance spreadsheets and reporting on project financial health
Raising sales invoices, following client procedures for new client set up and processing invoices through clients’ online portals
Following up with clients for invoice payment, maintaining invoice tracker and ensuring good credit control.
VAT reporting and managing payments to HMRC
Processing payroll monthly, HMRC payroll reporting and payment of NICs
Recording expenses for corporation tax
Working with accountants to provide information for corporation tax preparation
Keeping company insurances up to date
Monthly management accounts preparation and presentation
Monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and credit card statements
Management of multiple currency accounts and FX management
Onboarding of employees, contractors and supplier accounts
Pension auto enrolment
You will be:
A positive, proactive person with a solutions-oriented mindset and excellent problem-solving skills
A clear communicator both internally and with external stakeholders, fluent in written and spoken English
Highly organized and efficient with strong prioritisation skills, with an ability to deliver to deadlines
Able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, diplomacy, and professionalism
You will have:
2+ years experience in a similar accountancy or finance role
AAT qualification or studying towards ACCA, CIMA or similar is an advantage.
Commercial awareness and be confident and experienced with SME financial matters and the professional services business model
Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
Familiarity with accounting software, Xero
Up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP, VAT and the confidence to liaise with auditors and HMRC
Experience using AEC and Consultancy software, CMap, is beneficial
Comfortable submitting documentation through online portals
Advanced Excel for pivot-tables, look-ups and data clean-ups and interest in data analysis tools such as Power BI a benefit

This is a part-time role based primarily from our office in Holborn, central London. Hybrid and flexible working is available, with a minimum of 20 hours per week and working hours to be mutually agreed. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
