Carinnya is a Project Leader at Spaceagency’s London studio with experience spanning New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific Islands, and the Middle East. She studied Architecture at Victoria University of Wellington (VUW), focusing on the intersection of the built environment, cultural narratives, and Indigenous knowledge systems.
She has extensive experience leading cultural and narrative design strategies for large-scale civic, urban redevelopment masterplanning, and embassy projects. Her work explores how architecture and urban design can embed local identity, heritage, and community aspirations to create places and spaces that give back to their users.
As part of multidisciplinary teams, Carinnya has contributed to major projects including waterfront redevelopments, sports and events precincts, and new city masterplans, facilitating design visioning and integration from concept through to delivery.
Alongside her project work, Carinnya has contributed to research and advocacy as a Visiting Lecturer at VUW and as a Board Director for Te Kahui Whaihanga – New Zealand Institute of Architects. She currently serves on the Professional Practice Committee for the Commonwealth Association of Architects.
