The book delves into the concept behind each project and the integration of wayfinding programs in their environments, with a focus on visual guidance, space planning, and functional integration in a variety of settings. Projects are organized in easy to follow sections that cover educational and medical institutions, indoor public space, business centers, leisure centers, hotels and housing, and outdoor signage.
Heathrow Terminal 2 MSCP Now Open
Space Agency was appointed to develop a wayfinding and signage strategy for the forecourt and multi-storey car park to the new Terminal 2 at London Heathrow Airport.
The forecourt is the primary approach for departing passengers to the new Terminal, and for arriving passengers it is one of the first impressions after landing. An intricate system of routes between London Underground, Heathrow Express, multiple vehicular and bus drop-offs makes navigation complex. A clear and simple wayfinding strategy is therefore paramount for the client. The overarching concept proposed for the wayfinding strategy was to emphasize the sense of alighting, the drama of leaving the ground, all the while providing clear and legible directions to passengers and avoiding clutter.
