Sarah Manning is a founding director of Spaceagency. Her education comprises a Master’s Degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Design Research Laboratory at the Architectural Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University in International Comparative Studies.
Before founding Spaceagency in 2008 she was an Associate Director for the international strategic design consultancy Space Syntax, where she led a team of designers focusing on pedestrian strategies and public realm interventions with sites ranging from London to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Previous to her masters degree she worked as an Art Director at a 3D media company in New York City; in exhibit design at the United Nations Headquarters on travelling exhibitions promoting the mission of the United Nations, and in new media design in the San Francisco Bay Area. Sarah’s international focus led her to become a founding Trustee of the charity Architecture for Humanity UK. Within Architecture for Humanity she jointly established a humanitarian lecture series aimed at publicizing architects’ and designers’ efforts to use their ingenuity to promote humanitarian relief and development.
